SEAMLESS FLEXIBLE WAVEGUIDE

Home    Contacts

Seamless flexible waveguide is realised giving particular attention to the internal dimensions and to the radium of curving; this aspect has been meticulous studied so that the value of the V.S.W.R. is the lowest possible in all the frequency of production.

Seamless flexible waveguide has the following characteristics and advantages:

bullet

LENGTHS: 900 ¸ 1200 mm (± 50 mm).

Advantages: the reject of production is reduced and, by consequence, costs are saved. Moreover, this kind of waveguide allows us to produce single straight component with maximum dimensions.

bullet

EXTERNAL TOLLERANCE: ± 0.3mm.

Advantages: the limited external tollerance allows us to use standard flanges which guarantee the high quality of the product.

bullet

NO TWISTABLE ON DIAGONAL AXIS OF THE WAVEGUIDE, IN ALL HIS LENGTHS.

Advantages: in this way the perfect straightness of the waveguide permits a correct alignment by the flange during the welding.

bullet

NO STRAIN OR DEFORMITY OF THE MATERIAL DURING THE FORMATION OF FOLDING.

Advantages: this characteristic permits us to obtain good mechanical resistance on the repeated vibrations and pressurization.

bullet

HIGH FLEXIBILITY.

Advantages: all the characteristics listed above give an high flexibility to the waveguide. It is possible to bend the guide on two planes E and H, also on reduced radius, without changing the value of the V.S.W.R. and insertion loss I.L.

Cometel manufactures the seamless flexible waveguide in brass (Ot 80/20) and in beryllium copper (CuBe) in the sizes reported here below:

STRAIGHT FLEXIBLE WAVEGUIDE

Rectangular flexible straight waveguide “seamless type” may be also produced according to customer specifications. The flanges which are usually used are the following types: UDR, UBR, PDR and PBR, but special flanges can also be used (always according to customer’s request). Cometel S.r.l. manufactures all waveguide’s parts in brass or copper. The length of the Rectangular flexible straight waveguide may be from a minimum of 30 mm to a maximum of 1200 mm.

The corrosion treatment can be made through silver-plating (on Rectangular flexible straight waveguide of maximum 600 mm long), polishing and passivity (be-spoke the Rectangular flexible straight waveguide can be painted).

JACKET FLEXIBLE WAVEGUIDE

Jacket flexible waveguide is made in brass (80/20) or in beryllium copper and covered with neoprene: in this way, it is guaranteed the right running even when the product is subjected to temperatures included between –40°C and 120° C.

The flanges which are usually used are the following types: UDR, UBR, PDR and PBR: the choice depends on the type of waveguide used and on the length of gumming.

The length of the Jacket flexible waveguide may be from a minimum of 105 mm to a maximum of 1100 mm (also in this case it depends on the type of waveguide and on the flanges chosen).

The corrosion treatment of the inside tube and of the flanges can be made through silver-plating (on Jacket flexible waveguide of maximum 600 mm long) or polishing and passivity (be-spoke the Jacket flexible waveguide can be painted).

        RUBBER PAINTING FLEXIBLE WAVEGUIDE

The rubber painting is an alternative protection to the gumming: it's a new solution as effective as gumming against atmospheric agents. The advantages of rubber painting are:
bullet

Manufacturing bends in plane E and H with reduced radius of curvature

bullet

Excellent resistance to the atmospheric agents

bullet

Lightness

bullet

Significant saving in time of  manufacturing and cost

We have to point out that the rubber painting does not guarantee the mechanical protection offered by gumming in case of knocking; for this reason it's recommended to use products in rubber painting in areas which are protected from mechanical stresses.
